Kate Boon and her family have been involved with Northside Wizards for the past 12 years. Kate’s three children Amy, Georgia and Cameron have all played in local and/or junior representative competitions, whilst Kate and her husband provided ongoing support in the form of coaching and managing club and representative teams.
Basketball has been the centre of the Boon family for many years and they are proud to be part of the Northside Wizards community.
Kate has a background in Human Resources and Management and currently works as a Manager of Operations in the Education sector. Kate’s passion is to see kids grow from strength to strength in their basketball skills and confidence and enjoyment of the game. To see Juniors from Under 9s develop and follow the pathway to QSL and NBL1 at Northside is a great measure of success for our association

Ben Arthur
Director of High Performance
In 2014 Ben Arthur was nominated to and accepted for the position of NWB Director (Participation). He then transferred to the role of Director, (High Performance) in 2015. During his younger years in Sydney, Ben played basketball at the junior representative level culminating in a number of seasons with the Sydney Comets. After a long period away from the game, Ben is enjoying his whole family’s involvement back in basketball. Ben has held a number of senior management positions within Amcor and Cleanaway.

Phillip Brooks
Director - Domestic Competitions
Phillip Brooks is a descendant of the Bidjara Tribe (Great Grandfather), the Kairi Tribe (Great Grandmother), and the Ducabrook Clan located at Springsure, Central Queensland. Growing up, he spent the majority of his time living in Townsville, North Queensland. In 2014, he and his family moved to Brisbane and joined Northside Wizards, with his son playing both club and representative basketball. Phillip joined the board in 2018 in an exciting time for both opportunity and growth for the association. He is deeply invested in responding to ways that support and grow female/referee participation within the Northside Association. Phillip is currently employed as the Commissioner of Queensland Family and Child Commission and has held an esteemed career in the Queensland Government in a range of roles including as Director Government Coordination, Executive Director and Regional Director.

Greg Smith
Director - Volunteers and Venues
Greg Smith is a self-employed builder who has a five-year involvement with one of the Association’s largest clubs. Being a club volunteer, coach and administrator, coupled with his professional experience, he brings a good balance of thought to strategic planning projects. Greg and his wife Fiona have four children involved at Northside – Jacob, Morgan, Bailey and Lili. With a history in AFL, he is a club man who passionately supports his club and the association. Greg wears many hats including Board Member, Club coach and Representative team Assistant Coach to son Jacob. Greg is a valuable and reliable volunteer and we welcome the assistance he provides to Northside Wizards in so many ways.

Trudi Hollis
Director - Sponsorship and Communication
Trudi is a collaborative and results-driven professional with 25 years of experience in the corporate, SME and government sectors. She is passionate about excellent communications with a focus on delivering a seamless customer experience. Trudi has a proven track record of strengthening mutually beneficial commercial partnerships and the credibility and style to quickly establish rapport and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders. Trudi is a strategic thinker who adopts a pragmatic approach to addressing business challenges.
