Junior Club Competitions – Female players

Northside Wizards offers weekly competitions for both new and experienced players. This is the ideal place to get involved if you have recently completed a WizKidz program or your child falls outside of the WizKidz age bracket.

The junior female competition is coordinated voluntarily by the Northside Girls Basketball League (NGBL).

Players are grouped by age (Junior 8-12yo or Youth 13-17yo), and then graded by skill and experience (Div 1 or Div 2).

Training sessions are held mid-week. Players can choose to supplement their training by participating in additional Wizard development programs throughout the year.

 

NGBL Junior Division 1:

Generally includes experienced and competitive players aged 8-12 years. Players are graded into teams that train mid-week and play together each Friday night with their team coach. Games are held on Friday nights at Northside Indoor Sports Centre, Zillmere.

 

 

NGBL Junior Division 2:

Generally includes new and social players aged 8-12 years.

Players are graded into teams that train mid-week and play together each Saturday with their team coach. Games are held on Saturdays at Northside Indoor Sports Centre, Zillmere.  

 

 

 

NGBL Youth Division 1:

Generally includes experienced and competitive players aged 13-17 years. Players are graded into teams that train mid-week and play together each Friday night with their team coach. Games are held on Friday nights at Northside Indoor Sports Centre, Zillmere.  

All top age NGBL Junior players will move up to NGBL Youth each Summer season.

NGBL Youth Division 2:

Generally includes new and social players aged 13-17 years. Players are graded into teams that train mid-week and play together each Sunday with their team coach. Games are held on Sundays at Northside Indoor Sports Centre, Zillmere.  

 

 

For Grading Season 2021 and Winter Season 2021, the following age brackets apply:
o players born 2013-2009 will be graded within the NGBL Junior division
o players born 2008-2004 will be graded within the NGBL Youth division.

 

Please Note: 

  • All games are refereed by accredited officials or supervised trainees. Players are encouraged to train as referees, and are paid according to their accreditation level for each game.
  • Occasionally games are played at an alternate venue, usually The Brisbane Entertainment Centre (Boondall) or South Pine Sports Complex (Brendale). This only occurs if Boondall is unavailable, and is advised early in the season. See below for season dates
